Suspect in Manhattan bank robbery spree caught at tunnel

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - A Midtown Manhattan bank robbery spree ended on the corner of 31st Street and 9th Avenue on Thursday where one of two suspected thieves crashed his green Taurus and then tried to make a run for the Lincoln Tunnel.

But he didn't make it. Port Authority Police Officer Josh Maarleveld just happened to be at the right place at the right time. Maarveled said once the suspect, identified as Maverick Madore, 20, was cornered he became very aggressive. With backup from an Amtrak police officer, Maarveled managed to arrest Madore.

The NYPD said the suspects started the day by robbing a Capital One Bank at 56th and Broadway before heading less than one block south and doing the same thing again at an Amalgamated Bank.  More
