Man pays for court-ordered fingerprints with stolen credit card

Michigan – Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth called it a case of one of the world’s dumbest criminals.

A 28-year-old man charged with fraud arrived at the Sheriff’s Office Central Records Unit in Mason Thursday to submit to court-ordered fingerprints stemming from a charge of fraud in Ingham County District Court.

The man, of Ingham County, tried to use a credit card to pay for the $16 cost.

But when the office staff ran the card, it came back reported as stolen, according to Wriggelsworth.

“Is it any wonder the jail was overcrowded the last seven days?” he said in a news release. Full Article
