Mississippi family of 3 vanishes after car accident

Authorities in Mississippi say they have recovered items belonging to a family that vanished Friday after a car accident.

Fox 19 reports the items belonging to 30-year-old Atira Hughes-Smith, her 7-year-old son Jaidon Hill and her husband 34-year-old Laterry Smith were found in a dumpster at a gas station Monday, and officers were still searching the area for clues.

The family has not been seen or heard from since Friday, when Hughes-Smith’s relatives say she called them and told them she was leaving for a few days. The relatives told officials the call ended abruptly and they have not heard from her since.  More   Update
