Soccer Team Robbed at Gunpoint During Practice

STOCKTON—A teen soccer team was the victim of a scary robbery that happened right in the middle of practice, Stockton Police say.

The incident happened at the tennis courts near Ews Woods and William Boss Boulevards just after 6 p.m. Saturday, according to Stockton Police logs.

Two teens, a 16-year-old and 19-year-old, are said to have walked up to the team and their adult coach. The 16-year-old then pulled out a sawed-off shotgun and racked a round, police say, and then demanded the team’s property.

Not only did the suspects make off with the team’s cell phones and keys, but also their gym bags. The two suspects then ran off.

Officers were able to find two teens matching the description of the suspects a little less than a mile down the road. Property stolen from the team was found on the two, and a sawed-off shotgun was found in the possession of the 16-year-old.

Both teens were arrested for robbery, weapons and conspiracy charges. The 19-year-old was identified as Khayree Lewis (pictured); he faces a further charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  More
