MORTON GROVE, Illinois – A north suburban man looking to make a quick buck attempted to try to get ransom for a dog he found from the animal’s owner, Pioneer Press is reporting.
Joseph Jando (pictured), 27, of Morton Grove, was charged with intimidation and a parole violation after he allegedly contacted the owners listed on a stray dog’s tag and demanded $1,200 in exchange for the animal’s safe return.
The family called police when Jando allegedly threatened to kill the dog.
A Morton Grove detective then impersonated the owner and arrived at the rendezvous place to make the exchange. More
