A 25-year old man who was naked and playing a violin outside the federal courthouse in downtown Portland was arrested Friday afternoon on accusations of indecent exposure.
Matthew Thomas Mglej was taken into custody, after he failed to heed warnings from several officers, a sergeant and a lieutenant, Portland Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson said in a press release. Mglej may not be the man’s true name, he said.
Mglej had been outside the Mark O. Hatfield Courthouse at Southwest 3rd and Southwest Salmon Street, generating several complaints, police said. In addition to playing the violin, he also wrote out a sign while sitting on the sidewalk. More
