Jailed killer complains about quality of prison apples

Limerick Prison - Samuel Jennings, who savagely bludgeoned a woman to death and dumped her in a car trunk, has moaned about his fruit not being up to scratch.

The Scotsman has made several official complaints that apples have not been in the right condition at Limerick Prison where he is being held.

In August 2004 Jennings murdered 54-year-old mother-of-two Mary Walsh with whom he had previously worked in a loan company. The outgoing mother-of-two from County Waterford was killed for just a few thousand pounds.

After bludgeoning her head nine times, Jennings loaded her corpse into the trunk of her car, before disposing of the murder weapon and cleaning himself. More
