Motorist With Heroin Falls Asleep In Taco Bell Drive-Through Lane

Chicago – A woman was arrested on drug possession charges after being found asleep at the wheel in a southwest suburban Taco Bell drive-thru last Thursday, police said.

Leah Wright, 19, was charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of resisting arrest following the incident at the Taco Bell at 7601 W. 111th St. in Palos Hills, a statement from Palos Hills police said.

Police were first called to the restaurant about 9:45 p.m., the statement said. They found that Wright and another person in her car had fallen asleep in their vehicle while trying to order food, and blocked the drive-thru lane, police said.

When officers tried to talk with Wright, she tried to hide an object that had been in her hand, police said. Authorities later discovered it to be syringes and two bags of a substance that tested positive for heroin. More
