Mother claims man police fired on after car chase was rushing ill child home

Florida – An unarmed suspect fired at by police Monday but not harmed was not fleeing the officer but attempting to get home for an asthma treatment for his daughter, the girl’s mother said following his arrest on other charges.

Brian Dennison, 29, of the 7000 block of South Old Kings Road was trying to get the 6-year-old home after she suffered an attack at a park Monday and needed an inhaler, Nacoya Ransom said Tuesday.

“She couldn’t breathe,” Ransom said.

Dennison had been followed by Officer J.C. Garcia, who about 9:15 p.m. saw the green Ford Escort cut through a parking lot at San Jose Boulevard to avoid a traffic signal. More
