ELLSWORTH, Wisconsin – A western Wisconsin woman is now charged for her role in a violent crash that claimed the lives of three young children in December of 2013.
Pierce County prosecutors filed three counts of homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle against 34-year-old Kari Jo Milberg.
Milberg also faces a misdemeanor count of reckless driving causing injury.
Investigators say cell phone records indicate that Milberg was actively sending and receiving Facebook chat messages just prior to the crash. They believe driver inattention is a significant contributor to the fatal incident. More
