Woman charged with attacking deputies with crucifix


LAKE GEORGE, New York – A 44-year-old woman was arrested early Wednesday in Warren County after she was accused of swinging a metal and wood crucifix at deputies who had been sent to help her.

Deputies were called to Pine Grove Cottages at Lake George around 1 a.m. Wednesday to deal with a domestic dispute, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Police found a woman had barricaded herself in a cabin and was threatening to harm herself with razor blades.

The suspect, Elisabeth M. Lutz, repeatedly swung a wood and metal crucifix at officers who tried to help her, nearly hitting one in the face, the sheriff’s office said. More
