Detroit lawmaker shot up girlfriend’s car after fight


Michigan – Democrat State Sen. Vigil Smith was the man sought for questioning in an incident outside his Detroit home earlier Sunday in which shots were fired at a woman’s vehicle, a police source confirmed.

The incident occurred about 1 a.m. and it was unclear Sunday evening whether Smith was located and brought in for questioning later in the day, the source, who was familiar with the initial incident, told the Free Press.

The source said the shots were fired at a Mercedes belonging to Smith’s girlfriend.
