Man who was wrongfully imprisoned for 17 years shot dead during drug deal

Chicago – A Chicago man who served 17 years behind bars for a murder he didn’t commit was shot and killed during a drug deal Tuesday night, almost three years after walking free from prison.

Alprentiss Nash, 40, was shot several times by a man who argued with him during “a drug deal gone bad,” Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the Associated Press.

A suspect for the shooting was arrested Wednesday afternoon but has yet to be charged.

Two weapons were recovered at the crime scene — one belonging to the suspect ,the other to Nash. More
