Sheriff’s deputy shot dead ‘execution style’ while filling up his patrol car at a Houston gas station

Houston – A sheriff’s deputy has been shot dead while filling up his patrol car at a suburban Houston gas station.

Darren Goforth, 47, was gunned down from behind by an unidentified suspect, who crept up on him late Friday night at a Chevron gas station and unloaded several rounds.

After Goforth fell to the ground, the suspect, a black male wearing a t-shirt and shorts, kept firing bullets into his body in what colleagues described as a ‘cold-blooded and cowardly’ execution.

Goforth, a married father of two who served ten years in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, was pronounced dead at the scene. More
