Teen who claimed she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted now charged with filing false police report


South Carolina – The South Carolina teen who went missing on her way to school last week has been charged with filing a false police report after she was found safe.

Marley McKenna Spindler, 16, vanished on her first day of junior year at Socastee High School, Myrtle Beach, last Thursday.

There were fears that teen had been abducted after she sent friends a message saying she thought someone was following her just before she disappeared.

But she was found safe a week later and initially told police she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted, police said. More
