NEWARK, New Jersey - Five teens were charged Wednesday in connection to a crime spree that left an 18-year-old dead in Newark.
The suspects – between the ages of 14 and 17 – were all in custody Wednesday evening, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s office. Their names have not been released due to their ages.
At 6:41 a.m. Tuesday, a silver Jaguar was carjacked on Ivy Street in the Vailsburg section of Newark, prosecutors said.
The vehicle was believed to be involved in a string of other crimes, including robberies and shootings, police said. More
