Illinois – An Illinois police officer was shot Tuesday morning and three suspects are at large outside Chicago, authorities said

The Fox Lake officer was wounded around 8 a.m. local time after indicating he was with three suspicious men, a Lake County Sheriff’s spokesman told reporters around 11:45 a.m.

He chased after the suspects, identified as two white men and one black man, before another officer found him with a gunshot wound.

The spokesman declined to comment on the officer’s condition, only calling him “injured.” He did not say what prompted the foot pursuit. More
