Man Applies For Police Deputy Job While Wanted On Six Out Of State Felonies

DETROIT – A man who applied for a job at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested by the agency on a warrant from Kentucky.

The sheriff’s office said 25-year-old John Wesley Rose, who applied for an officer position in September, was wanted on six felony sex abuse charges, including sodomy, rape and first-degree sexual abuse.

The warrant was issued in Madison County, Kentucky, in March but the charges weren’t entered into a national database.

An officer with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office conducted a thorough background check on the man and discovered “a litany of sex abuse charges,” police said. More
