Nurse bites off fingertips of attacker

New York – The death of a Brooklyn man’s mother sent him so far over the edge Thanksgiving Day that he tried to strangle the home nurse who was caring for her – until she bit the tips off several of his fingers while fighting off the ferocious attack.

The holiday from hell began early in the morning when Patrick Fortune, 52, reached his breaking point days after his elderly mother died from an apparent heart attack.

Inconsolable, and suffering from schizophrenia, Fortune accused the live-in nurse, Rose Ferrier, of murdering his mom in their Canarsie apartment, and tried to choke the life out of her. More
