N.J. Little League manager charged with hitting teen umpire

BERKELEY — A Little League baseball manager has been charged with assault after he allegedly slapped a 17-year-old umpire who had ejected him from a recent game in Ocean County, the APP.com reports.

Thomas Murphy, 43, of the Bayville section of Berkeley Township, faces two counts of simple assault, the report said.

Witnesses reportedly told police they saw Murphy “strike the 17-year-old umpire with an open right hand to his right ear.”  Full Article
