Police: Grandmother, grandson sold heroin, narcotics

PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police say they broke up a drug-dealing family.

A grandmother and her grandson are charged with heroin-related offenses, and another woman is charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Elaine Coffey, 65, the grandmother, is charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, failure to keep narcotics in a proper container and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nicholas Coffey, 24, is charged with conspiracy to commit possession of heroin, conspiracy to commit possession of heroin with intent to sell, operating under suspension and traveling unreasonably fast.

Jody Read, 34, is charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. More
