Michael Starkey said he went into the store located on North Fayetteville Street Thursday night to use the bathroom. However after he was finished he returned but no one was inside the store.
Police asked Starkey why he didn’t call 911 but he said, “He did not know,” according to the police report.
But police say surveillance video painted a very different picture of what happened. Apparently Starkey grabbed a box of cookies then went to the bathroom to hide out. After the business closed Starkey ate food off the shelf, grabbed some beers and soda to drink. More
