Grandmother Arrested For Leaving Five-Year-Old In Below-Freezing Car While She Gambled At Casino


NEW YORK - A woman was arrested and charged with leaving her 5-year-old granddaughter in a parked car for over an hour, while she was in the Resorts World Casino in Jamaica, Queens.

As WCBS 880’s Jim Smith reported, Renee Osby, 56, was arrested at 11:54 a.m. Saturday, and charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17 years old, police said.

She was accused of leaving hear granddaughter in a parked car outside the casino, at 110-00 Rockaway Blvd. in Queens, for over an hour.

Osby allegedly told police she went into the casino to “cash a check.”

A casino security guard called the police after he observed the child alone in the car for approximately an hour, police said. More
