Prison correction officer told she could be fired for fighting off inmate’s sexual assault

New York – A correction officer on Rikers Island was sexually assaulted by an inmate and claims her boss told her she could be fired for fighting back, according to reports.

“He violated me,” Officer Samantha Moscoso told ABC 7 of the alleged Sunday morning attack by inmate Dexter Bell, 25.

Moscoso said she was taking a cuffed Bell — who she did not know was a sex offender — to the showers when he pushed her against a railing and managed to grab her between her legs, according to the station.

The shaken guard said police were only contacted after her union got involved, and even then, her captain told her that hitting Bell during the alleged attack could be grounds for termination. More
