University student had been playing with gun when it went off, boyfriend dead

Louisiana – A New Orleans man preparing for a beach trip died Thursday after accidentally getting shot in the face — allegedly by girlfriend, who initially told police he had done it himself.

Tulane University rising junior Nicole Dukarm, 20, cried in court as she was charged Friday with negligent homicide for the death of Alex Pryzybyl, her boyfriend of two years, the New Orleans Advocate reported.

When officers arrived, Dukarm told them her boyfriend had accidentally pulled the trigger himself.

But she later admitted that she had been playing with the gun when it went off, and said she didn’t know it was loaded. More
