Man facing life sentence in Florida confesses to unsolved ’92 Queens murder so he can spend life in N.Y. prison

Florida – A former pimp and career criminal already facing life in a Florida prison confessed to an unsolved Queens murder from two decades ago, hoping he’ll get to spend the rest of his incarceration in a New York prison cell.

James Pacheco, 43, is now facing murder charges for the Aug. 26, 1992 murder of William Figueroa.

Figueroa was shot in the head on the fifth-floor hallway of a building at the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City.

Two men were arrested, but never indicted for the crime,according to law enforcement sources. More
