After 5,323 Calls In 2 Years, County Cracking Down On Problem Motel 6 Properties


SACRAMENTO COUNTY – The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office has identified six Motel 6 properties as unlawful nuisances for their high number of calls for service.

The sign says welcome and it’s a place that promises to leave the light on for you, but at some Sacramento County Motel 6s, there have been more lights and sirens.

The district attorney’s office is finalizing strict rules requiring them to keep security lights on, hire armed security guards and build fences.

The move comes after more than 5,000 calls for service across the more than 500 rooms in the six worst Motel 6 properties in the county in a two-year period. More
