Man attacked by his own pit bull after ordering dog to attack police

RIVIERA BEACH, Florida – As Avery Davis ran from police Monday, he released his pit bull and directed the animal to attack the officers, according to authorities.

The dog apparently had other ideas.

The Florida man’s pit bull bit him in the buttocks and tried to bite his head before Davis ran and hid in a nearby apartment complex, according to the Riviera Beach police arrest report made public Tuesday.

According to the report, police officers were in the area investigating a reported burglary. Officers observed Davis, who matched the description of the suspect. More
