A Massachusetts woman who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for encouraging her boyfriend to kill himself, could face up to 20 years in prison at her sentencing Thursday.
Michelle Carter was 17 in 2014 when she persuaded Conrad Roy III, 18, to kill himself with a series of texts and phone calls, prosecutors said.
Roy died when his pickup truck filled with carbon monoxide in a store parking lot in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. More
