A burglary suspect ate a meal, drank a bottle of champagne and took a shower before being arrested at gunpoint, naked inside the the bathroom of the Joshua Tree home he was attempting to rob, authorities said Friday.
Michael Calvert, 25, was arrested by San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies around 8:15 p.m. Thursday after the homeowner returned to his residence on 29 Palms Highway, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman.
The homeowner reported hearing someone in the bathroom with the door closed, Bachman said.
Sgt. Jason Radeleff of the Morongo Basin sheriff's station said an investigation revealed the burglar "helped himself to some food, downed a bottle of champagne and then took a shower." More
