Burglar caught by thirst for cider

A burglar who drank cider during a raid on a country mansion has been jailed after his DNA was found on a glass at the scene of the crime.

Ian Cronshaw, 57, of Torquay, was found with £3 700 of valuables taken from the £1 million house at Coffinswell, near Newton Abbot, Devon.

Exeter Crown Court heard how the house was ransacked and stripped of more than £50 000 of valuables in October last year, while the owner and his family were on holiday. They were so traumatised that they moved out.  Full Article
