Men accused in brutal rape of Kenyan teen sentenced to grass-cutting

Three of six men accused of brutally raping a Kenyan teenager and dumping her in a ditch were ordered only to cut grass as a punishment, sparking more than one million people to sign a petition demanding justice.

The 16-year-old victim, known by the pseudonym Liz, was attacked and raped as she was returning from her grandfather's funeral, France24.com reported. She was left bleeding and unconscious in a sewage ditch.

According to the report, she suffered serious internal injuries and is now wheelchair-bound with a broken back.  More
