Staff members at a senior residential care facility left patients abandoned

CASTRO VALLEY -- Staff members at a senior residential care facility where patients were left virtually abandoned on Saturday were accused of twice letting a patient wander away from the facility and giving improper medication to another in the weeks leading up to the suspension of its operating license.

The California Department of Social Services listed the allegations against Valley Springs Manor in a complaint attached to a temporary suspension order issued against the facility on Tuesday. The state is seeking to revoke the license permanently, according to the complaint.  More
