Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office charge woman with stabbing and killing family cat

Nellie Marie Palacios, 43, was arrested and faces charges for burglarizing her boyfriend’s home and stabbing his cat to death with a kitchen knife reported the santamariatimes.com.

Authorities were called to a home on the 4600 block of Hummel Drive in Orcutt after a man called and said the woman had been removing paintings off the wall of his home. Police found the dead cat in a dog house and a bloodied knife.

Palacios told the officer the cat had attacked her, and she was acting in self defense.

She is currently in the Santa Barbara jail in lieu of $50,000 bond. More
