Serial stowaway strikes again

Marilyn Hartman, known for repeatedly attempting to stow away on flights from San Francisco International Airport to the Hawaiian Islands, successfully sneaked onto a flight from San Jose’s Mineta International Airport to LAX, where she was promptly arrested Monday, officials said.

While details were sketchy, police say Hartman, 62, was able to circumvent security checkpoints, something that usually requires multiple reviews of tickets and identification, removal of shoes and belts and sometimes a pat-down or chemical scan.

Upon arrival in Los Angeles, a crew member aboard Southwest Airlines flight 3785 noticed that something was amiss and reported Hartman to police as an unticketed passenger. More
