Home Left Completely Destroyed After Three-Day-Long Armed Standoff



Danby, N.Y. — Efforts have begun to help the family of a Tompkins County man who died Friday after an armed standoff with law enforcement that lasted over 60 hours.

A total of 18 law enforcement agencies were called in for back up. Sheriff Ken Lansing made the ambitious call to remove Cady from the home through overwhelming force.

More than 150 law enforcement and emergency personnel began breaking down the walls of the home.

David Cady, 36, was found dead Friday morning after he barricaded himself inside his Danby home and fired a shot at a patrol car. Cady was being sought in connection with DWI charges. More
