Couple Charged With Murder After 2-Day-Old Daughter Dies Of Meth Overdose

South Carolina – A couple from South Carolina charged in the meth overdose death of their 2-day-old baby girl were due in court Tuesday morning for a preliminary hearing.

Kelli Noelle Smith-Durham and her boyfriend, Shane Ray Fuller, were arrested in February in connection to the November 2014 passing of their daughter Gracie Mae Fuller.

Smith-Durham, 27, was charged with murder by child abuse and four counts of unlawful neglect of child.

The little girl was born November 17, 2014, and died only two days later. A coroner determined the cause of death to be drug intoxication after discovering high levels of methamphetamine in the newborn’s system, reported Fox Carolina.

The manner of the baby’s death was ruled a homicide. More
