Soldier drove 900 miles following a reported robbery at his house

Georgia – A U.S. Army soldier is accused of killing a man he discovered with his wife when he came home to Hinesville, Ga. on Saturday, according to police.

Jermaine Ray Mealy (picture), who is stationed at Fort Polk in Louisiana, was later arrested and charged with murder in the town roughly 40 miles southeast of Savannah, according to Liberty County Sheriff’s Office inmate records.

Police say Mealy, a 31-year-old chief warrant officer, drove over 900 miles to Georgia from his training in Texarkana in northeast Texas on Friday night following a reported robbery at the house, WTOC-TV reported.

A fight broke out between Mealy and the as-yet-unidentified victim when he found the male friend with his as-yet-unidentified wife. More
