Hitler-loving drifter at center of Louisiana theater killing

Louisiana – The man who opened fire in a Louisiana movie theater, killing two and wounding nine before turning the gun on himself, was a Hitler-loving drifter with a long history of violent mental illness, authorities said.

John Russell Houser, 59, who had degrees in accounting and law, suffered from bipolar disorder, physically abused his family and was so violent that his now-estranged relatives had to hide his firearms, they said.

In 2008, his family had him committed to a mental hospital when he flew into a rage over his daughter’s engagement.

He was convinced the 23-year-old woman and her 26-year-old fiancé were too young to get married, court documents show. More
