Texas man arrested for spanking son with belt for missing soccer goal

Police in Texas collared a 31-year-old man after he allegedly spanked his 8-year-old son with a belt for missing a goal during a soccer game, police said.

The grandmother of Carlos Jesus Vasquez’s son called the Odessa Police Department Wednesday to report the incident, according to a press release.

After further investigation, police found that Vasquez had hit the boy 10 to 20 times with a belt — and they found injuries consistent with the alleged beating. More
