A 74-year-old woman is dead, and her alleged killer is in police custody.
It happened at a group home on Lafaye Street near Pontchartrain Park in Gentilly. NOPD Police officer Garry Flot said the "call came in shortly before 1 am" in the 5900 block of Lafaye Street.
WWL TV reports the suspect later admitted to beating the woman with an air conditioning unit then tying a plastic bag over her head at the group home where she was a care giver. More
