Deputies: Deltona janitors try to sell stolen X-ray machine on Craigslist

An office cleaner and his accomplice stole a large X-ray machine from a Deltona dental office and put it up for sale on Craigslist and eBay where the owner saw it and called deputies, a sheriff's spokesman said.
Matthew Pare, 25, and his accomplice, Matthew Simmons, 26, both of Deltona were arrested Tuesday and each charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property, said Volusia County sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson.
The panoramic dental X-ray machine, valued at about $30,000, was reported stolen from Summer Smiles Family Dental in Deltona at 1200 Deltona Blvd. The owner, Cindi Bishop, 51, was in the process of moving the business out of a plaza on Deltona Boulevard. She had removed all of the office equipment, but had left the X-ray machine behind because it was too large and delicate for her to move on her own, Davidson said.
Bishop was planning to call the company she purchased the machine from to have them move it but before she could do it, the machine disappeared, Davidson said.
Several weeks later, Bishop called the Sheriff's Office to report that she had located the X-ray machine for sale on the Internet. There were several ads placed on eBay and Craigslist, including one that set the asking price at $20,000. More
