Car stuck in ditch undoing for two thieves

New Jersey – A couple with a vehicle stuck in a ditch west of DeLand said they were driving in the neighborhood to learn a newspaper route but were actually going around stealing, Volusia County sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies found Sara Lightfoot (picture), 27, of DeLand and her boyfriend, Steve Madan, 28, of Eustis with a stash of stolen goods and arrested them.

Madan was charged with two counts of burglary and grand theft and Lightfoot with two counts of being a principal to burglary, grand theft and possession of cocaine.

DeLand police also charged them with a separate burglary, said sheriff’s spokesman Gary Davidson. More
