Love-struck woman smuggled hacksaws, drill bits to killers in prison break


New York – The love-struck worker accused of helping killers Richard Matt and David Sweat bust out of an upstate prison smuggled hacksaw blades, drill bits and headlamps into the maximum-security facility — and she could face felony charges as early as ?today, sources and authorities said.

“She admitted to helping these two guys out.

She gave them the hacksaws they used in the escape. She gave them the drill bits and two goggles with a headlamps attached,” a law enforcement source told The Post.

And Clinton County DA Andrew Wylie said Friday that the worker, Joyce “Tillie” Mitchell, 51, “could be facing potentially ?2 1/3 to seven years in state prison,” if convicted of smuggling contraband into a state prison to help hardened killers Richard Matt and David Sweat flee. More
